ABOUT US
Cornerstone Church of West Columbia is a new congregation that had its first worship service on January 28, 2024. We are a Christ-centered, Bible-based, Spirit-filled church. While most of our members came from one congregation, our membership consists of persons who transferred from 21 different churches and those who were unchurched.
We are affiliated with the Global Methodist Church. We have 250 members and many others who have not yet joined. We currently hold one blended worship service.
Cornerstone Church is the place for you if you share our values and want to grow the Kingdom of God and our local church.
The Apostles’ Creed, a fundamental statement of Christian faith, does not specifically mention prayer. However, it outlines essential beliefs about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, and the afterlife. Here is the Apostles’ Creed:
“I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day, He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there, He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.”
While the Apostles’ Creed doesn’t explicitly address prayer, it serves as a foundational declaration of faith for Christians. Prayer is an integral part of Christian practice, and believers often turn to God in prayer to express their faith, seek guidance, and communicate with the divine.
